Today I was able to hook up my laptop to the Megasquirt and observe all the sensors in action. It is awesome to see real time data.

It was drizzling but I took the car for another 2 mile test ride. The automatic feels great. Max boost is just 10psi. I did take the opportunity to do a brake stand and was able to achieve 3100rpm and 6psi of boost without the car moving or the tires spinning!

I cannot wait to launch this thing at the track with slicks!

Todd,

Are you using dual megasquirts for fuel/timing or just one to control the fuel and leaving your chipped Motronic in charge of the timing curves? Just wondering, that thing is going to be absolutely SICK at the strip!

Todd, you were able to get the car running with out the laptop to begin with?
Also what are you using for a crank trigger?

Yes, but only because Peter Floarance supplied me with maps. The MS (fuel only) uses the stock sensors.

With that kind of torque, the stock T-converter must have a stall speed over 2k. MegaSquirt II is already available for ignition control, it's just a daughter card for the MegaSquirt you already have.

Who built the MS for you? What is your cost for the system thus far including wire harnes and what not?

Peter Florance. I don't want to tell you my cost because you'll throw up.

Awwwww come on. I believe the MS is not even close to performing the same a the full blown TEC3 system. You get what you pay for, nothing is free.

You may prove me wrong, I would be very surprised though.

With that said, the TEC3 is a bit pricey too. Then again, I am not working with a salvage yard engine either and the additonal cost is justified.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

No doubt the TEC3 is superior to the MS. How much better in terms of HP/drivability? I have no idea.

Actually it doen't. I still have to install it and tune it. If I can get it drivable, there is a TEC3 tuner in Fankfurt. I'm sure that will not be cheap.
