Re: 2014 328xiT
Hello, cool car - I've been watching the f31 market a bit.
Were the bumper replacements expedited by damage to the originals?
Has the chain +chain guide system been replaced?
What is your asking price?
Cheers,
Cyp
Ps would be a local sale as I'm looking to replace my Tampa car.
Pss. Is the roof box big enough for a spare tire?

I've done a dozen of these chains! Seems to survive and run good even if it skips pretty badly. Bmw will tell you that a new engine is required. The shaft motor seems to instantly adjust the intake to minimum lift when dme senses how bad things are and the exhaust valves never seem to get damaged. That is my guess only but seems plausible.
Otherwise the N20 seems reliable. I believe cars produced somewhere around Jan 2015, maybe starting Feb 2015 are not susceptible to the problem anymore.
Usually I see 2013s that are bad but other years do crap out.
I even saw a dealer repaired one that was out of time slightly somehow.
I even had to reprogram the dme on one after repair per a TSB where valvetrain repairs cause a engine malfunction!
And I even put the pin in the wrong hole once and timed it perfectly wrong it survived.
