I'm gonna try to keep this short, sweet and to the point !

I purchased this e28 5spd sight unseen as a project however the previous seller was not 100% honest about the work it needed. Also bc it took sometime to have the car shipped he removed misc items before the car was picked up. A real asshole ! Anyway as you guys should know this is a Gray Market original 533i 5spd !

The car wasn't running when I purchased it but as you can see in the video I got it running and motor sounds healthy. Luckily the complete 5spd drivetrain is still in tact as well.

Here's where the straight talk comes into play. I know that I can make a pretty penny to part out but I don't believe in parting out complete classics so I'm looking to sell complete. Also my neighbors are pricks Lol

With that being said my loss is your gain. I'm simply looking to get back my total investment of $5,500

Also car is located in Nassau County New York and can arrange for shipping if necessary.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm afraid your loss will continue to be your loss.

1. The 1983/1984 533i were produced for the USA market only, they were not a gray market car.

That car will never bring you what you are asking for here, or anywhere else. You need to reassess your position and come to grips that you will take a huge loss on this and chalk it up to a bad buying decision.

Don't shoot the messenger but that car is probably a $1k car or less depending on the condition of the engine/differential/and lack of rust.

Can't totally blame the seller. :dunno:
But "the rest of the story"...

If you live overseas and buy this car it's a gray market car...

Apart from that, I'm with kojo96. Parting it may be the only way to get anywhere near your investment out of this car.

I'm in general agreement with the others, but assuming it's not rusty I think it's worth a bit more. Nowhere near your asking price, but if you clean it up some and it drives, it might go for 1500-2500. It is an M30, 5 speed car.

That may be the worst interior I've seen though.

Part it out and invest a little in new covers from ebay....probably the only wsy to make a little or get close to your original investment.

....just my 2 cents.

I'm trying to figure out why you thought that was a "grey market" car. Sorry but I agree the decisions you made from the start are going to be hard to overcome.
