I have a red 535is for sale, link here.
https://www.hagerty.com/drivers-club/my ... a259858dd1
Since I last posted about this the windshield has been replaced with new oem. Also Austin's upgraded ac kit has been installed.
http://www.acsolutions.co/
Some misc work to fix fuel smells in the trunk was also done. It is a beautiful and sorted car.
I had the head crack evaluated by a professional BMW tech. His response after having his own eyes on it (new valve cover gasket afterwords).
"I would run it as a street car with no issues. The head bolt is carrying all of the clamping force holding it all together and preventing it from fully cracking
If I was bouncing the engine off the Rev limiter and tracking it I would put a head on it."
I am considering listing it on cars and bids or bringatrailer.com.

Bumping, guess my price is too high?
Open to offers and interesting trades. I would consider an E39 M5 or maybe an E46 M3.

You asked so...
-The air dam from the picture looks to be a completely different color.
-A crack in the head is not a non issue. It is a major problem waiting to happen
-Any kind of paint rework is detractor
-Asking for 30K and no A/C? That's a non starter for many people at a 10K level, much less 30.
-229k
Its a nice car for sure, just not 30k nice (yet).

I didn't say the head crack was a non issue. Your other points are valid though, thanks.

Very attractive car; great color combo.
But I have to admit, the shell game feel of the photos, compounded by the 2018 date codes of the "professional" photos, tells me you're either "selling" it due to a marital directive, or you're otherwise not really serious about selling. If someone posted their car with a 10k pricetag and photos like these... that wouldn't go so well either.
And I think you've been here long enough to know what that means: photos with a datecode of 9/2021, on a lift, underneath, proper lighting, floor mats out, trunk cleaned out, etc., etc.
I hope if you're trying to sell it, you decide to do it properly (and not rely on the "Kohler" name to get tens of thousands), and get a good price for it, and if you're not trying to sell it, delete my ish before your wife sees it!!

Wow, just kind of speechless about your assertions that I am trying to pull a fast one or something. Yeah you're probably right, the car is a complete hoopty with wrecked panels all over, four flat tires, and I left it outside for the last 2 Minnesota winters and it won't start anymore.
In all seriousness I tried to represent the car with complete honesty about its faults and good points. In fact I put 75 miles on it yesterday and it was a total blast to drive.
I guess I am reminded why there has been a ton of negative feedback over the years from people trying to sell cars on this board. The relentless criticism by armchair experts on here makes it really unpleasant.
Finally the accusation that I am somehow disgracing Chris Kohler's name by mentioning him really pisses me off. I consider Chris a friend and we worked closely together on this build.
I look forward to your follow up response to attack my reputation further.
If anyone is serious about the car you can contact me for more details, photos, or a conversation by phone.

Sorry if you interpret my comments that way.
We know you and we know the car. We know you're a good guy and wouldn't intentionally do the wrong thing.
That said, since your advertisement has worldwide coverage, you should assume that 90% of the people looking at the advertisement will NOT know you. And my suggestion was simply that you write the advertisement for them, considering the price you asked.
I am happy to delete my prior comments if you feel they are slanderous or whatevs. It doesn't matter if you're Chris Kohler yourself, no one asks that kind of money for a car and then provides 3-yr-old photos. It's simply bad form.
I think it would be a great idea for you to write up an advert and start over. Feel free to delete this and anything else I wrote if it bothers you. I certainly take no offense. Again, sorry if I offended you.

Isn't there a picture of this car for the month of January for this year's calendar? Surely, that image isn't three years old!

Now I feel I'm missing something—since I see no photos and no description!

I noticed on another thread you stated this was still available, any detail or photos you can offer?

did your windshield get replaced through hagerty? I've been thinking about switching but my salemen friend couldnt give me a clear answer on how they handle difficult windshield replacements like these would be.

No I bought it about 3 years ago through Blunt tech I think and held onto it until I could get assurances of getting it installed properly. The techs at my BMW dealer who work on older cars did it and even they admit it can be tricky mostly because of trying to reuse the original seal.

A few other facts to share. This car has by far the largest binder of records of any cars I own, going back to the late 1990s. I have all modifications documented in those records.
Comes with a spare b35 head and two framed pictures of red BMW E28 race cars.
Has never seen rain or water since I've owned it. I "wash" it with Griots Speed Shine and soft cotton towels.
The garage it is stored in has heated floors so there is no condensation of any kind from our MN winters.

Do you know if there is any issue with registering the car in CA with a M30B35 engine swap?

It was registered in CA before but I don't know if there was any special process.

I've seen Adam's car up close, I can vouch for it's condition. It's VERY nice.

My car passed smog and it runs a bit rich and has a stumble at idle, you most likely would be able to smog it in California.

Well hoped to sell it through the forums but it is on bringatrailer now. It pains me since I get attached to my cars. Thanks for the nice comments posted already by a few of you about my integrity as a seller, it means a lot.

This is the step I need to take for getting a 911 GT3 in my garage. I gotta scratch the Porsche itch.

I think your car will do really well on BaT, Adam, and I hope the process works smoothly for you.
The GT3 is a hell of a way to scratch your Porsche itch! Which version are you aiming to get?

A 997.2 or nothing! I've done a lot of searching and research.
