I washed my car engine bay included, never had any issues before but now it runs and drives intermittently. Went and got a car wash and then went and got the woman's hair done and it sat for 4 hours and shortly after while driving home it shut off like not sputtered as if it got no fuel but it shut off right away. Starts right back up but sometimes just fires but won't start. Not really sure where to start as you can be driving and accelerating no problem and then next second every 5 feet it dies and you have to fire I back up. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or they have ever experienced this before. Thanks

Did you ever find out what was wrong with this? Just got a 85 524 and it's doing something similar..

when mine was doing this it was sucking air. Mine is a Lincoln so the specifics are probably different but the hoses to and from the fuel filter were bad on mine. Ford uses quick connects with O-rings. The O-rings were bad and the hoses were hard and cracked.
