I think its worth right about what you are asking for it....about what I paid for my 533i in similar condition. Mine had Euro bumpers though!

I do think that you are giving away too much info in the ad for the average buyer. Might scare someone away who is not an E28 enthusiast...

Maybe he wants an enthusiast to buy it? I know I would want someone who would love and care for it.

I am an honest seller. I would definitely be the worst seller of used cars... Especially ones I got as deep into as my E28.

I am not really motivated to sell, the car is good to me despite its downfalls... I do agree, anyone who doesnt own an E28 probably wouldn't understand how minor the things are with mine, especially for how nice it is...

Im thinking as nice as this car is, if I need to it might be best just to put it away rather than sell it. I am not in a financial position that forces me to sell. At least these cars have some resale value, unlike my beloved Q45s.

Personally, I would delete this whole section:

Other minor problems is the blower motor for the heater rattles a little bit. It works fine, just makes some noise. When at speed you dont even need to use it anyway. The rear defroster doesnt work right now but I think I can fix it. Sometimes, one of the rear doors will lock, but not unlock with the power locks. Lately it has been acting fine, but occasionally it doesn't.
Those are all things a buyer can find when they come see the car. The way it is now you're likely scaring most away from even contacting you in the first place. I'd consider not mentioning the rust either; they'll ask, and then as an honest seller, you can explain it just as you did in the ad. Just my $0.02 :dunno:

Was this the car with the serious rust issues under the front passenger side insulation padding?

It looks like a nice car, but rust is a bitch. It's hard to really tell you, to be honest, without some photos of the impacted areas. If you want to post those photos, I can give you more detailed feedback, fwiw.

Yeah, don't mention the rust.
That will make fast friends with prospective buyers.

I didn't say don't EVER mention the rust, just not in the ad. If it was an ebay sale where he might get a buyer from across the country, then yes, you want to disclose everything right off the bat. For craigslist, no. Like I said, that's going to be a question most any prospective buyer in the rust belt will ask about (even non-automotive types); better to explain it at that point then needlessly listing it in the ad. At least they may still be interested enough to come check the car out anyway.
