How bad is this?
recently picked up an 88 528e that seemed like a good candidate for body work/euro bumpers and some tlc to bring back to life. The experience I have isn’t with things so neglected so not used to seeing rust and creases
The car has what I thought was slight front end damage that… 5mph bumper shocks would have come in handy.

What's it look like on the outside? Is it tweaked 4 inches to the right or does it look ok? Rust would concern me more than that without seeing it in person.

its also not as bad as it looks, that top section where most of the visual damage and crease is, is not structural. the real rail is only the bottom part

I believe the previous owner was using a smaller size battery. After fighting all the battery acid off I tried dropping in the proper size battery but I’m guessing the inner fender well is impeding it from dropping all the way down.

This looks to be the part I need along w the fender and battery tray. $75 seems more than fair.

The linked part is from the windshield forward to just past the middle of the front wheel. Doesn't seem to be the piece that would impede installation of the battery.
You might be able to get the battery tray area massaged to allow fitting the correct battery size as it seems that area has been pushed in a good bit. Maybe remove the fender and see what you have access to and where the dings can be hit or pressed back into a better place.

Can't really tell from the pics, but it doesn't really look that tweaked. Parts should be available, but not necessarily easily. I remember when... Back in the early part of this century when E28s were plentiful in the DIY yards, you could walk into any Pick and Pull and have your choice of what car you wanted to pull parts off of. You might not be able to match the paint color though...

I think my eyes were looking for a quick solution thinking I found what I needed, thank you. Ironically enough there is a parts e28 near me but suffers from the same driver corner impact. Clean oem windshield tho that I’m gonna take tho!
