'84 528e in Maryland

Post by Sh00bs »

Edit: posted in parts the first time. F in chat

welp i bought a '95 325i yesterday. i know e36's better so im (probably going to regret) selling my '84 e28 528e 5spd manual.

120k on her, ive put at least 5k and the odo doesnt work but im guessing it has around 130k. the p/o said it worked when it was parked. SO here's the scoop, i bought it about 10 months ago off fb marketplace in PA non-running and no title. used the vermont loop hole (moment of silence for our loss) to acquire a title after running the vin and confirming it wasnt stolen.
i did two fuel pumps, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the fuel injectors (#7 was stuck open so i did a delete on that guy), threw in a new temp sensor, new plugs, new dizzy cap, rotor and wires, and that wire that bolts to the bell housing and runs up the firewall to plug in - i forget the name of it, new 02 sensor, coolant flush. she's good as new and runs great!
everything works except the tach and speedo. i have a working fuel gauge and temp gauge so im happy, turns work, all lights, fogs, e brake / light, sunroof tilts and goes back, all windows go all the way up and down, trunk light.... etc... everything works.
non - sport seats are in great shape and super comfy.

it's a late model '84 but it didnt have the 027 DME, so i got an '85 (027) DME and threw a turner confetti chip in it. i still have the stock '84 dme and '85 dme chip. this definitely wakes the car up a bit

uhhh lets see, ive replaced all serpentine belts, the bushings (4) in the alternator, both front interior door handles/mechanisms, the shift knob was falling apart so i bought a 3D printed one, the radio didnt work so i put a headunit in it, the 39 year old speakers sound GREAT. it's bluetooth and has usb aux as well.
the AC WORKS GREAT !!! R12 still, it's super cold.
i havent been running the heat due to summer but have a used (working) heater valve i bought from another member here that i have yet to install.
the center bearing for the driveshaft support makes some noise when you take off in 1st, i have a New center bearing but alas havent installed that yet either.

i drive this car Everyday. it starts perfect Hot or Cold. it's super reliable and never has let me down. i'd trust it to drive across the country

cons? besides the small things listed above, uhhh it's a 39 year old car and parts are getting a little hard to find ?
clear coat is pealing on the hood and trunk
it has the smallest bit of rust in the front and rear by the bumpers, that's about it

i'll get pictures up today. i have the oem bottle caps (15") i can include with it, it's currently on 16" style 32's with run flats that are pretty old but have tread.
i do have some 5 spoke Borbet 16" with BRAND NEW TIRES that i can include for my asking price. again, i'll have pics up today, you can fly in from california and drive it back if you wanted.

feel free to txt, or dm me here. i have NO 0's in my phone number, those are just to confuse the bots

4043, 8six07. zero 470five 0 seven00.

im asking $5300 clean title (Vermont, can move to MD if needed, will take about 2 weeks) in my name
