FS: CA , AZ, now TX E23... $5,000
FS: CA , AZ, now TX E23... $5,000
FOR SALE:
'84 733i automatic.
Alpinweiss / black w/ wood trim.
Interior is in amazing condition.
Exterior ain't too bad, straight panels but does have paint warts.
CA / AZ car, so no rust.
It's a good runner now that the ignition switch has been replaced.
NO oil, coolant, or tranny LEAKS.
It's the E23 we drove to TF last year.
Cruise control works (it's amazing on the highway).
23 MPG driving it back from PHX.
A/C and heat worked, but some of the hvac box pods are blown so air came out of the floor and defrost vents, unless at speed, then you got some thru the vents. HitmanX helped with a couple of the pod settings so now air blows out thru the vents.
Ultimately it's gonna need the HVAC box reworked for the system to function as designed.
I've replaced all front end components, struts all around, main fuel pump, tires on 15" style 5s (I have other wheels that could go with it), and illuminated light switches.
It's gonna need a center support bearing soon, as there's the bit of tell tale chatter under hard acceleration in 1st gear.
I now feel confident about jumping in it and driving it anywhere.
Only selling because I found another Alpinweiss '84 733i, factory 5 speed, L7 interior including dash, w/ euro bumpers and lights.
If this one would better scratch your itch, holler and we can discuss it.
Asking $5,000, OBO.
W/ prepayment + fuel cost covered, I can deliver it w/i a reasonable distance.
Pics available upon request to:

Annual bump.
Was in no real hurry to sell, and still am not,
but would love to move it on to the next custodian
as some things have changed here in the last year
making me a little more motivated.
Contact info is unchanged.
Thanks for looking.

Re: FS: CA , AZ, now TX E23... $5,500
Appears to be a nice car, I'm a 30 Plus year fan of e28s, but e32s are looking more attractive as I enter my sixties. What's involved with HVAC pod replacement? How difficult? And are the pods expensive or hard to find? Thanks in advance.
Re: FS: CA , AZ, now TX E23... $5,500
Thanks.
I'm too new to the E23 HVAC world to honestly answer those questions.
A friend, HitmanX, is sourcing the hardware to rebuild the box in the OAK 5 speed. There are some Mercedes pods that interchange, he's told me.
Perhaps one of the long-term guys will chime in.

Re: FS: CA , AZ, now TX E23... $5,500
FWIW, I had a contact about 6 weeks back that asked and got detailed pics and answers. After that and negotiating a price, shipping cost to NY from here in the HTX area came into question, as a fly in drive back was not a current option. I investigated and found the cost to be $850, which I agreed to cover $500 of. I then was told, I'll get back to you, and have since not heard anything.
All that said, I'm pretty sure shipping to anywhere else in the country couldn't be much different, so I'll throw that same offer in to any potential buyer.
Thanks again for shopping.

As rare as all these 70's-80's BMWs are getting I had to look twice. Not that I need another car, but I miss something from the "period" And according to the owners manuals the big E23s are only about a hundred pounds heavier than E28s... Perhaps fortunately, I'm already over car'd and out of space.
GLWS!
