This B35 rebuild is available: http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=153588
...I assume it's not a good OOTB candidate for a turbo application since it doesn't have the requisite (ARP?) head studs nor MLS head gasket...?
would appreciate any/all fb re: turbo possibility
Re: would appreciate any/all fb re: turbo possibility
In my opinion your money is better spent finding a decent running 300 dollar m30 out of an e34 535i. I would prefer a higher mileage engine in good shape over a rebuilt engine any day, assuming you dont have a requirement to run upgraded internals . Personally once i ran studs with a good oem gasket i never had issues up to 15 psi, mls has some requirements for surface finish that may be hard to meet without a full rebuild.

I've been running 2+ years on a junkyard b35 from an e32. I run 16psi daily and have had no issues with the bottom end

I noticed a significant increase in power with fresh rings and a valve job.

you don't need arp studs or mls gasket
i've maxed out an hx40 60mil for years and years and 19psi on a 66mil borg.
only time i blew an engine was because the stock ring gap is too small for maybe upper 4s
all ring lands cracked. This is my experience if you bring detonation into it then idk about that stuff. that'll blow anything.
and you'd rather blow a gasket first than the next weakest link.
