BMW EURO 528e 1986

This BMW 528e/525e is a European delivery with full DOT/EPA certification. It has the ultra rare color of BMW-Akaziengrun, which most enthusiasts will say they have never seen. The Bimmer is a slick top (no sunroof),retains all its original body panels, has not been in any accidents and has one respray in factory color. There is some minor rust in the left rear bumper corner. Interior is good condition, door panels, headliner and carpets are excellent, the rear seat and passenger seat are good with the driver's seat needing to be reupholstered. Both seats have nice sheep skins, thus making the upholstery issue not such a problem. Dash is cracked but has quality cover. The odometer reads 220k, car runs out well with its auto-trans, engine is dry with no leaks, all windows work well, am/fm CD player, good to excellent tires 3 Tiger Paws and 1 Michelin. I have receipts back to 2006 that show nearly $11k in maintenance from its last home in Arizona.

The repairs include but not limited to;

Timing belt
Water pump
Cam seal
Front Crank seal
Ignition tumbler
Alternator
Rotors and Pads
Interstate Battery
Idle Valve
New Battery

This is a great driver and can be enjoyed now.

$4,700 obo

Thanks.

Show photos of all the rust. This car has a lot of it. Also, the right front door doesn't fit right. I chased this car for nearly a year and was completely misled by the "previous owner." I use quotes because the title had a child support lien against it so the guy selling the car had to file for an abandoned title. When I turned it down, it went on CL, then eBay.

I went and looked at this car on Sunday.

I spoke to the owner, whom happens to be the weather man for CBS News 8 in San Diego, over the phone on Friday.
I inquired about the rust, specifically asking if there was any bubbling and anything structural. I was told there was one minor bubble under the rear bumper and no rust anywhere else.

I knew where the car was located so I went and took a look while the car was parked on the street. This car has some serious rust. There's holes through both rockers that I could fit my fingers through. The bottoms of the fenders are rusted through. This car would crunch if you jacked it up by the jack points. Bubbling under the tail lights and the rear valance is toast.

I was also told the car hasn't been in an accident, but that didn't seem to be the case. As to what Kohler said, it seems to be the front fender, not the door, that doesn't fit correctly. I'm under the impression that it's been hit as it doesn't line up front or rear, and the front grille doesn't meet correctly. The fender has obviously been off the car.

I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner in person, but this car was bad enough for me to walk away from, and I really wanted it.

Heads up to any potential buyers. I don't want to be "that guy" by posting this stuff in a for-sale thread, but buyer beware. It'd be a shame for someone unknowing to get burned by this car.

I took plenty of photos of the rust if anyone would like me to send them to you.

I'm glad someone else was able to corroborate what I found. I'm sorry the current owner got screwed by the eBay seller but once again, it's not being offered correctly. Just didn't want to see anyone get burned. I really really wanted this car as soon as I saw it.

The correct term for TV people that read the info from the National Weather Service website is meteorologist.

You don't need a weather man to know which way the wind blows
